Commercial Loan Closer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Commercial Loan Closer (CLC) is responsible for conducting the closing of small business and commercial real estate loans. The CLC maintains productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders throughout the closing process, while ensuring loans are closed according to the appropriate government or non-government loan standard.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and activities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Prepare needs list required to close small business loans after approval

• Communicate and coordinate with internal teams, clients, attorneys, and third-party vendors involved with completing the loan closing process

• Review client files and loan documents for completeness and accuracy, i.e., organizational documents, insurance, purchase agreements, title commitments

• Verify the loan terms and conditions outlined in the loan approval

• Prepare and ensure loan closing documents, closing costs, and disbursement of funds requests are accurate

• Order title searches and appraisals, when appropriate

• Conduct in-house loan closings and/or coordinate closings with the attorney’s office

• Record and submit UCC filings and other collateral security as needed

• Document adequate record-keeping of all communications to involved parties, including providing updates and addressing any questions or concerns

• Obtain post-closing documents and input client data files into the loan management system

• Attend loan committee meetings and document loan approvals and closing conditions

• Perform other duties necessary within the Closing & Servicing department

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s Degree in finance, business or equivalent work experience

2+ years of commercial loan closing experience or real estate paralegal experience

Knowledge of loan documentation, security instruments, and other closing requirements

Detail–oriented individual with the ability to work independently and with a team.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Experience with SBA loan closing a plus

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week) (Non-remote)

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000/year plus benefits (depending on experience)
