Calling all Pooler residents! Join us in celebrating Georgia State Arbor Day through our exciting Partner with Pooler to Plant a Tree for Free event. This initiative aims to promote environmental awareness and encourage tree planting within our community. Pooler residents may select a free tree to plant in their yard or pot in an outdoor space. These trees are carefully selected to thrive in our local climate, ensuring their long-term success, and there will be a team on hand to answer your care questions. More than 225 3-gallon plants and Georgia Forestry Commission seedlings will be available while supplies last (one per household). This year, we have collaborated with our arborist to carefully select a diverse list of trees, focusing on species that are visually appealing and will thrive in our hardiness zone, including Bottle Brush, Pineapple Guava, Brown Turkey Fig, Magnolia, Vitex, Beauty Berry, Tea Olive, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Live Oak, and Crape Myrtle. Mark your calendars and don’t miss this opportunity to grow a greener Pooler! Date: Saturday, March 22, 2025 (rain or shine) Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Location: Pooler Recreation Complex Football Stadium at 200 Preston Stokes Drive Please note, the event will be held rain or shine. Out of fairness to all residents, trees may neither be reserved, nor distributed prior to the official 9:00 a.m. event start time. Supplies are limited, so there’s a possibility that the type of tree you prefer may not be available.
