Security Associate


The Security Associate will oversee dispensary security to protect all company assets by deterring theft and violence. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable local and state/provincial security requirements at all times and adherence to established security protocols. You may also manage and/or implement security protocols related to the storage of confidential information and documents.


-Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors.

-Prevent and deter criminal activity and loss of assets.

-Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas such as inventory areas, network equipment areas, and employee files and confidential records.

-Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities.

-Where government projects are involved, it serves as a liaison to government agencies concerning project security; assists with security clearance processing for employees working on government classified programs.

-Compile security reports as required.

-Utilize all security systems to discover and deter security breaches and compliance issues.

-Ensure the reporting and documentation of all incidents and provide initial information for investigations to appropriate authorities.

-Reporting any security issues to dispensary management when necessary.

-Enforcing order, safety, and security within the dispensary at all times.

-Escort personnel as needed.

-Performs other related duties as assigned.


-Extensive knowledge of security protocols and procedures.

-Previous experience operating video surveillance and access control systems strongly preferred. 

-Experience and/or training in de-escalation and conflict resolution.

-Ability to work days, nights, and weekends in rotating shifts.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-Ability to provide training on security policies and procedures.

-Ability to work with confidential and classified information.

-Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

-High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

-Five years of related security experience required.

-Valid driver’s license or ID required.

-Must be 18 years of age.


-Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

-Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

-Ability to traverse various areas of the facility to conduct inspections and plan security procedures.
